35 students qualified to compete: 12 in Piano, 12 in Winds, and 11 in Strings. Participants came from through out the state: Austin, Houston, Lubbock, College Station, Cleveland, Gilmer, Joshua, Alvarado and Dallas and its surrounding suburbs: Plano, The Colony, Coppell, Keller, Argyle, Garland, Rowlett, Frisco and Richardson.
